AIDS: $1 Billion up in Smoke?

But that’s ok. Because Obama “raised awareness”. That’s what counts, right?

Now do you see my EXTREME hesitation for the church to believe the motivations of politicians, or invite them to speak?

Politicians’ “compassion” is only limited to their next election. As a Commander on the Navy Base I used to work on used to say, “[Politicians] are just whores in business suits.”

This is why I thought it was extremely foolhardy for Rick Warren to invite Obama to speak. He made his church into a tool to be wielded about a politician in need of Christian support for his presidential bid.

Now that he isn’t needed, it’s business as usual.

If REAL change is to be brought about, the Church needs to lead, and let the others follow. Do not allow those with worldly power derail what God would have us do.

We have a choice here. We let them take notice when the combined focus of the church solves that which they have ignored or we can beg them to pay attention to us.
